Sept. 14. In the siege of Damietta. The patriarch of Jerusalem commends Romanus, Decianus magister and other crusaders from ‘Oestergoe’, who have suffered much on the journey to the Holy Land and Egypt, have been absolved from further crusading [licentiati], are indulgenced, and are the bearers of this letter, to the abbots and monks of Klaarkamp, in Mariengaarde and in the city of Dokkum. At the same time he asks that disobedient peregrini who have left the crusade without permission should be forced to return.
