Sept. 12. The sultan of Aleppo issues a privilege to the Venetians, represented by Thomaxinus Foscarini, sent as emissary by Doge Pietro Ziani. The Venetians are assured of security. They will pay 6 per cent on merchandise. They are assured of their goods in shipwreck and of the security of their property should they die. Merchants in general will not suffer for the wrongdoings of individuals.
