text:
Feb. 26. Lateran. Pope Gregory IX transmits to the magister of the Knights Templar the complaints of the emperor Frederick that the Order has refused to accept the truce he has made with the Muslims and has gone to war, in spite of the prohibition of his balivus and the threatened attack of the rex Persarum, with the result that many milites peregrini have become prisoners-of-war. The pope forbids the Templars to act in this way.
