Writing to the archbishop of Tyre, Pope Gregory IX confirms earlier privileges granted to the church of Tyre by Popes Innocent II, Anastasius IV, Adrian IV, Clement III and Celestine III, including the right of the archbishop to wear the pallium, confirmation of the church’s possessions, whether in Christian hands or held by the Sarraceni, and its rights over parishes and priests.
