Aug. 1-31. Rieti. Assuring the barones, milites and all the people of Acre of his good will, Frederick, dei gratia Romanorum imperator semper augustus, Ierusalem et Sicilie rex, informs them that Pope Gregory IX is sending as legate Archbishop Theoderic of Ravenna to oversee the peace between him and them, negotiated by the patriarch of Antioch and the magister of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans. He orders them to obey the legate.
