Aug. 10. Acre. At the command and in the presence of domina Alis princessa et domina de Torono and her court, and with the agreement and authorisation of her daughter Margarita and her daughter’s husband Philippus de Malgastel, domina Beatrix, the daughter of Galterus Ledur, sells under seal a casale called Saphet lo Cathemon in the land of Toronum, with all its rights and dependencies, including domestici and salvatici, to the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans, represented by frater Lutolfus magnus preceptor et locum magistri tenens, for 1000 gold Saracen besants and a rent [nomine census] of 40 gold Saracen besants, payable each year by the Order’s treasury [thesaurus] in Acre on the Feast of the Holy Cross. The charter is sealed by both Beatrix and Philippus de Malgastel. Witnesses, of the homines of Alis, Goffridus dominus Cayphe; Balduinus de FIorito; Hugo de Tabaria; Gervasius de Malgastel; of the homines of the emperor, Balduinus de Pinkeingin; Nicolaus Antelmus; Iohannes Apertus.
