The Cistercian general chapter could not intervene. The pope called on the assistance of the archbishop of Apamea [archiepiscopus Appamiensis] the decanus…. and magister Henricus, canonicus Antiochensis, while the abbates of La Ferté, the mother house of Jubin, and Jubin came into the papal presence and asked for intervention. Pope Gregory IX orders the patriarch of Jerusalem, the papal legate, the archbishop of Nazareth and the archidiaconus Acconensis to proceed against the monks.
