[Mar. 9. Lateran. The canons of the Holy Sepulchre have been spreading the fiction that the Holy Fire, which descends on the tomb of Christ during the Easter Vigil, also falls on the site of the Prison of Christ in the church of the Holy Sepulchre and are charging pilgrims as a result. Pope Gregory IX forbids this venal practice to continue.
