Aug. 1-31. [364] Frater Hermannus Petragoricensis pauperis militiae Templi magister reports to Brother Robert de Sanford, the procurator of the Order’s houses in England, that the sultan of Damascus has restored all the land west of the river Jordan to the Christians. The Christians will help defend his lands against the sultan of Egypt, with whom neither side will make peace without the other.
