January 24. Lyons. After a diligent examination, Pope Innocent IV writes to the bishop-elect of Bethlehem G[ottifredo] dei Prefetti, relating that he decided to confirm his election to the vacant see, since all the canons who should and could came together on the appointed day and, invoking the Holy Spirit, elected him, then papal chaplain. The chapter informed the pope by sending as their nuncio and agent Canon Bartolomeo [da Roma] – whose faith and diligence the pope praises – to ask that the pope to confirm the election as canonical.
