June 26. Lyons. Pope Innocent IV writes to the [Roman] cleric Diodato dei Prefetti, nephew of the bishop-elect of Bethlehem [Gottifredo dei Prefetti], responding to his request by allowing him, due to his knowledge of letters and nobility, to receive and retain two ecclesiastical benefices, posts or ranks (personatus aut dignitates), even if they involve the cure of souls, if they are offered to him, notwithstanding the conciliar constitution, with provisos.
