July 11. Lyons. Pope Innocent IV writes to Master Aubry, rector of the church of Béville[-le-Comte] in the diocese of Chartres, relating that he was shown the master’s petition that claimed that when the pope ordered the late bishop of Chartres to have the master received as canon and brother in the church of St Maurice of Chartres and to be given a prebend if vacant or as soon as possible, the bishop did not bother, so the executor carried it out, granting the master the vacant prebend that the archbishop of Tyre had possessed. However, a long series of events intervened, the addressee did not obtain the prebend, and he is now granted another prebend that was vacated after that of the archbishop of Tyre.
