July 21. Pope Innocent IV writes to the [cardinal-]bishop of Tusculum (Frascati) and papal legate (Eudes de Châteauroux), ordering him to publish in Outremer the statutes of the Council of Lyons [I] that prohibit the abuse of papal letters, using them maliciously against others. The legate is asked to apply this prohibition as he sees fit, without appeal.
