August 7, Ind. VI. Acre. Peregrinus, abbot of S. Maria de Latina, and the convent of the same monastery grant in perpetuam ememphitiosim to the Hospitallers their village Mondisder with all its rights as well as another village, Turris Rubea, also with all its rights, as well as all of our lands and possessions in the territories of Caco, including men and women. The order in return will forever pay an annual payment to the monastery of 800 golden Saracen besants. Half the sum will be paid on the Virgin’s nativity and the other in the ascension of the lord. This payment will be made regardless of all circumstances, including the loss of the whole kingdom of Jerusalem provided that Acre or Tyre will still be in Christian hands. However, if both these cities were to be lost, the payment would cease, but if only one of them were to remain under Christian control, the payment will be made.
