Pope Innocent IV writes to the patriarch of Jerusalem [Robert de Nantes] and the bishop of Lydda, relating what he was told on behalf of Brother Hugues de Nis[s]un his saga of the episcopacy of Sebaste (as in the papal mandate dated 18 February 1253; RRR 2901), this time specifying that Hugues is a deacon and was at the time of his appointment a brother of the knighthood of the Temple, and adding at the end that the addressees are to commit to Hugues the administration of the temporal and spiritual affairs of the church of Sebaste.
