May 27. Rome. At the request of Romanus Gibellensis episcopus, whose church has long been occupied by Muslims [Moabitae] and destroyed, Pope Innocent II confirms the possession of all the goods that Romanus and Patriarch Bernard of Antioch have restored, and all conceded by others. The pope authorizes the reoccupation of properties, the Church’s possession of which is confirmed by charters issued by Patriarch Bernard. The pope takes the diocese under papal protection.
