September 24. Anagni. Pope Alexander IV writes to Archbishop [Gilles] of Tyre (Tyrensis) and Bishop [Arnaud(?)] of Lydda concerning the case between Magister Guillelmus dean of Acre (Acconensis) and Philippus dictus Pisces (Poisson) priest of Tyre (Tyrensis) over the post of dean of Acre (Acconensis) and certain houses vacant through the death of the late Nicolaus then dean of Acre (Acconensis), rehearsing the facts and ordering the addressees to have the sentence and condemnation against Philippus carried out by themselves or by others on papal authority, with the usual clauses about those who contradict and notwithstanding obstacles.
