In the presence of Bartholomeu Monge, bailii of Juliens seignor de Seete et de Biafort, and the court (cort) of the lord of Sidon, Gautier le commandeor des freres des Alemans de Seete, representing the maistre and convent of the Hospital of St Mary of the Germans, and sire Jehan dou Schuf, the son of sire Andre de Schuf, announce the transfer of 2 fiefs (fies), which Jehan held of the lord of Sidon, to the Hospital of St Mary, with their casaus, gastines and other rights, including gesin, without the rendering of service to Jehan and his heirs. In return Jehan will receive an annual rent of 1,000 Saracen besants in Acre weight, payable quarterly in sums of 250 besants, although in time of war the rent will be reduced to 500 besants, in quarterly payments of 125 besants. Jehan and his heirs will retain 3 gastines near the city of Sidon, called le Sauraanie, la Begelie and Bescote, the garden and land on the plain before Sidon, and the houses in the city of Sidon itself.
