April 30. Ind. I (II). Genoa. In the palace (palatio) of Opiçonis de Flisco, where the dominus capitaneus (Guillelmus Bucanigrus) dwells. Ugucio de Arezio, citizen of Messina, as nuncius and procurator of Dulce, widow of Willelmus Rubeus and heir of the late Merlo Schillinus (the procuration was issued by the notary Matheus de Ricio and dated 11 September 1252 as mentioned in the attached letter of Manfredus, king of Sicily; 12 September 1258 q.v. specifying that Merlo died in Acre), on behalf of Dolce acknowledges that Guillelmus Bucanigrus, captain of the people of Genoa and the presence of his anciani delivered 1,410 lire being everything that came to the commune of Genoa and the consuls of Genoa, beyond the seas from the goods of the late Merlo who died intestate overseas. Witnesses: Ferrarius de Castro, iudex, and Armanus Pinellus.
