*June 21. Anagni. Pope Alexander IV informs the bishop of Bethlehem and the papal legate (Thomas of Lentini), the cantor of Acre and the treasurer of Beirut that the abbot and convent of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat has appealed against the sentence made by the patriarch of Jerusalem about the abbey’s dispute with the dean of Jaffa (diocese of Lydda) over tithes and other things. They are to judge the appeal, confirming or quashing the patriarch’s sentence.
