March 24. Tyre. Egidius, archbishop of Tyre (Tyrensis archiepiscopus) records the terms of a sealed agreement made with frater Petrus abbas monasterii Sanctae Mariae de Valle Josaphat and his convent over the tithes owed by casalia called Beffale and Saddana in the diocese of Tyre. After mediation by friends, the archbishop and chapter of the church of Tyre on one side and frater Guillelmus, prior and generale procurator of the abbey of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat on the other, the abbey of St Mary promises to pay the church of Tyre 70 Saracen besants each year on the Feast of All Saints, while the church of Tyre confirms the possession by the abbey of St Mary of the platea of the church of St Andrew of Josaphat in Tyre, of a garden of the abbey, located in sabulo Tyrensi, and of other properties which the abbey has within the walls of Tyre. This agreement does not cover future acquisitions. If the above casalia are occupied by the enemies of the faith, St Mary will not be bound to pay the rent for the tithes, but will continue to pay 4 Saracen besants a year for the platea.
