Mar. 13. Acre. Baldwin, per gratiam dei in sancta Hierusalem Latinorum rex quartus, at the request of Queen Melisende his mother, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant, confirming Melisende’s gift to the abbot Willelmus and the monks of the abbey of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat of a casale called Cafracos, situated not far from Ascar, with the exception of a particula already given to a turcopolus, on condition that Mass is solemnly celebrated by a priest for her benefit and that of her relations. Witnesses: Humfredus de Torone constabularius; Galterius de Sancto Audemaro castellanus, nunc domnus Tyberiadensis; Gormundus Tyberiadensis; Guillelmus marescalcus regis; Guillelmus marescalcus Tyberiadensis; Odo de Sancto Amando; Ottho de Risberge; Galterius de Guella. The charter was drawn up by Stephanus, representing Radulfus Bethleemitę episcopus regisque cancellarius in his office.
