Apr. 3. Patriarch Evremar of Jerusalem writes to his old teacher, Bishop Lambert of Arras, giving him the benefit of a share in the prayers and merits of the Church of Jerusalem. He presents him with a gold ring and 2 crystal ampules, filled with balsam. His sealed letter reaches Arras on 17 November. [13]

Comments:
[13] The seal is unusual in that it is inscribed in both Latin and Greek, perhaps to stress the legitimate inheritance of the Latin patriarchs from their Greek predecessors. As transcribed in the late 17th century, it reads: S. Euremarus Patriarcha Hierusalem. Ό ΆΓΙΟΣ ΤΑΦΟΣ ΤΟΥ ΚΥΡΙΟΥ ΙΗΣΟΥ ΧΡ[ΙΣΤΟΥ].
