Before Jul. 16. Rogerius de Caifa and his brother Johannes give the canons of the Holy Sepulchre 6 carucate terre, 3 on this side of the river of Haifa [flumen de Cayfa] near the springs [fontanae] and the other 3 across the river and situated on its bank. They are freed from all exactions and customs. The carucatae are defined in terms of the capabilities of pairs of oxen in a system of 2-year rotation [quantum sex paria boum laborare et excolere poterint per omnes sationes, scilicet tres ad seminandum et alias tres ad garantandum].
