Comments:
[14] William of Tyre (pp. 486-7) wrote that the king promised the Genoese a third part of the revenues and the right to a vicus with full jursidiction in every city they helped conquer. A subject of debate is whether the promise was made or whether William had seen a Genoese forgery.
