†Mar. 8/27 - Sept. 23. [120] Bohemond III, the son of Prince Raymond, Dei gratia princeps Antiochenus, with the advice of his barones, confirms under seal whatever was granted in the charter of Bohemond I to the Genoese in Antioch, Latakia and portus Sudini. He specifies: a ruiga with the church of St John in Antioch, which is between two streams [aquae] and has the road [via] on each side; a fundicum, a ruga and everything else they have in Latakia, together with a third part of the revenues [redditus] of the port; a third part of the revenues in Suidinum. He promises a response to complaints or justice with 40 days, unless hindered for a good reason; and in that case emendment with 15 days according to the usus et institutiones of his curia. He gives [freedom from] conmertium in all his land and in any territory he acquires with Genoese assistance. He promises security of Genoese persons and possessions. In return for his oath, Lanfrancus Albericus civitatis [Ianue] eiusque totius senatus ac consulum venerabilis legatus swears to aid and defend Bohemond’s subjects [homines] and possessions against all men. Witnesses: Silvester cognatus principis; Robertus Gaufridi filius; Eschivardus dapifer; Willielmus de Monci pincerna; Willelmus Tirellus manescalcus; Bonablus; Iohannes de Salquin; Willelmus Balfre dux; Gaufridus Falsardi; Willelmus de Crosi; Radulfus de Neun. The charter was drawn up by Bernardus cancellarius.
