At the request of the Genoese, Pope Alexander III orders Patriarch Amalric of Jerusalem, together with the archbishops, bishops and abbots in the kingdom of Jerusalem, to encourage King Amalric to restore the golden inscription displayed in the church of the Holy Sepulchre [in Templo] and to observe the privileges granted to the Genoese in his kingdom.
