Latin and Greek mosaic inscriptions record the redecoration of the church by King Amalric of Jerusalem, the Byzantine emperor Manuel, and Radulphus/΄Ραούλ, the Latin bishop. A Latin incription refers to Basileus Pictor, identified in Syriac as a deacon. A Greek inscription refers to the work of ΄Εφραίμ μοναχος, painter and mosaic worker.
