Nov.- Dec. Benevento. Mainfred, an emissary from Genoa, complains to Pope Adrian IV of the treatment of the Genoese, who have contributed so much in equipment, blood and expense to the conquest of the Levantine coast, by the king of Jerusalem, the count of Tripoli and the prince of Antioch, who have abolished and diminished the privileges granted to the Genoese by their predecessors. In particular, he complains about the actions of men [homines] of the king of Jerusalem, who have unjustly confiscated galleys [galea] and money belonging to the Genoese. He also complains of the actions of Bernardus Atto and his companions in Provence.
