text:
Jan. 1-31. Ugo Caesariensis dominus makes a sealed eleemosynary grant, to favour the souls of his father and grandfather who are buried in the church of St Mary of the Latins. He confirms the properties held by St Mary in his lordship and its right to come and go, and buy and sell, freely without any payment of dues [exactio, redditus]. He confirms for Rainaldus abbas, representing the abbey, possession of land he had once given to the abbey, which is between the hill…. [and] the Fons Sanctae Cannae. The land had belonged to Nicolaus Azopardus and now to Adelasia the wife of Stephanus Baratae. He had promised Stephanus compensation, but Stephanus had died and he therefore buys the land from Adelasia for 20 besants. Witnesses: Eustachius Escoflel; Manasses; Amalricus; Gervasius Vicecomes; Bertinus; … de Area; Albertus Harabitus and many others. [78]
