Dec. 25 1160 - Dec. 24 1161. Ugo Caesaree Palestine dominus, with the consent of his wife Helisabeth, makes a sealed gift, granting Jacobus a money fief [in asisiam] of 25 besants, to be drawn each year from the revenues [redditus] of the cistern [cisterna] of Chaquo, payable in August in repayment for the service of Jacobus and his man [homo] and 2 horses at home and abroad [domi forisque procurationem amissionumque restaurationem]. If Jacobus should marry Ugo will add a further 5 besants and 20 modii of wheat. Jacobus becomes Ugo’s vassal [homo meus iunctis manibus est effectus].
