[104] The list of ovens may have been composed in similar circumstances to the rental, but it may be a little later. It is unlikely to have been written any earlier than 1163, because Roard the castellan, referred to in it, was in post from 1163 to 1177 (Mayer, UKJ 2:545). The terminal dates could be 1163-1175.
