Dec. 25 1169 - Dec. 24 1170. Amalricus Sidoniensis episcopus describes how on a visit to Jerusalem he went to the tomb of the Blessed Virgin Mary and then to the cloister of the abbey of St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat to see the abbot and brothers. Petrus abbas admitted him and his canons into an association of prayer, so that he should be remembered during his life, his anniversary of his death inscribed in the abbey’s obit book and his Requiem said both at Sidon and in St Mary. In return Amalricus remits under seal half the tithes owed by St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat in his diocese. Witnesses: Bernardus cantor; Jordanus canonicus; Paguanus canonicus; Richardus canonicus; Willelmus subprior; Guibertus celerarius; Arnaldus sacrista; Johannes monachus.
