1171 - Jul. 11 1174. King Amalric of Jerusalem informs Pope Alexander III that the first abbot of Palmarea has died and that he has been appealed to by Gormundus, the advocatus, patronus et fundator of the abbey. He asks the pope to send a suitable abbot or prior with 3 or 4 monks from Cluny to restore the house and resume the enjoyment of its rights.
