Jul. 8. Lateran. Recognizing the poor state of the patriarchate of Antioch, the greater part of which is held by the Muslims, and understanding that the testimony of Suriani and Armeni is not admissible in cases against Franks [Francigenae/Franci], making it impossible for the church to recover property occupied by clergy and Christian laymen, Pope Honorius III authorizes the patriarch and chapter of the church of Antioch to make use of the testimony of Greci, Suriani, Armeni, and indeed all Christians, in court cases.
