Mar. 1-31. Rivoalto. Among regulations governing sailing in the eastern Mediterranean, issued by Doge Pietro Ziani to the doge in Crete, is one decreeing that during the next winter no Venetian ship from Antioch ought to be at sea travelling to Jaffa, nor should it sail from Jaffa or any part of Syria to Venice.
