December 1. Lyons. Pope Innocent IV responds to the bishop and chapter of Sidon, relating that, since the city of Sidon has been destroyed and they are fatigued by the heavy labour and expense of its defence, and four persons have been received in their church as canons and brothers on the basis of papal letters, he grants that they cannot be forced to accept anyone else via a papal letter not making explicit mention of this indulgence.
