Aug. 7. Lateran. Pope Paschal II reminds Patriarch Bernard of Antioch of the mutual charity that should bind the churches of Rome and Antioch, both associated with St Peter, and emphasizes that anything he writes about the boundaries between the patriarchates is not motivated by malice but is to clear up ambiguities and to serve peace and the rights and honour of both churches.
