recipient: Abbey of Mount Tabor and Johannes Montis Tabor abbas
institution: Mount Tabor
text: April. 1-30. In the chapter of the abbey of Mt Tabor. Ahuhisa Palmerii domina, daughter of the late dominus Amfossius and heiress of dominus Petrus de Castello, with the agreement of her husband dominus Rainaldus makes an eleemosynary grant to the abbey of Mt Tabor and Johannes Montis Tabor abbas. She gives the houses that had been occupied by frater Pelagius at Palmerium, which is called Solinum, a new house that [abbas Johannes] constructed when he was prior there, all the property adjoining it as far as the Gate of Cayra, an oven in which no burgensis can cook, because its use is reserved to the abbey’s familia, and all the land that frater Pelagius had in the territory of Palmerium, except for a pettius terre, which lies at the foot of the mountain. Ahuhisa also gives the burgenses of Palmerium free use of their possessions according to the customs [ad usum et consuetudinem] of Buria, except that they may not sell to milites or professed religious, saving her rights as lord. Misdemeanours by familiares of the abbey will not be judged by the lord of Palmerium but by the bajulus ecclesie, although fines will be rendered to the lord of Palmerium.
