text: Feb. 22 (or Mar.). Waltham. King Henry II of England’s will in favour of the Holy Land. This specifies that 5000 marks of silver are to be given to each of the military orders and that another 5000 marks are to be disbursed jointly by them in the defence of the kingdom of Jerusalem, unless Henry shall himself recall the money for his own use, along with the funds he had already sent to Palestine. Another 5000 marks are to be shared by religious houses in Palestine under the supervision of the patriarch of Jerusalem, the bishops and the masters of the Temple and the Hospital.
