Pope Celestine III informs the magister and brothers of the Order of the Knights Templar [militia Templi] that the canons of the Holy Sepulchre have complained that they have reneged on an agreement made about tithes. Pope Celestine III appoints the archbishop of Nazareth and the bishop of Bethlehem judges delegate in a dispute between the archbishop of Tyre and the plebanus of the [Venetian] church of St Mark in Tyre over that church’s parochial rights in the Venetian third part of Tyre. These had been confirmed for the time being, while the Holy Land was not recovered, by Pope Clement III, who had authorized the archbishops of Caesarea and Nazareth and the prior of the Holy Sepulchre to settle the matter. The rights of the church of St Mark were still being challenged by the archbishop of Tyre. Aug. 5, Lateran.
