In the reign of Baldwin, rex inclitus et christianissimus regnum Babiloniᶒ atque Asiᶒ disponens, Evremar, who has succeeded to the patriarchate, rules on the prebends of the canons of the church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Each canon is to be provided with 150 besants a year. This sum will be received by the cantor, the primicherius or magister scholasticus, the treasurer and sacristan, over and above any other prebend customarily enjoyed by them. King Baldwin has provided the succentor with 150 besants and after the death of Arnulfus archidiaconus, who has been funding the subdeacon with 100 besants a year, the patriarch will provide the same sum for the subdeacon. The patriarch gives the canons 2 altars – the high altar in the choir by which is the patriarchal cathedra, and the parochial altar, immediately behind the Tomb [ad capud Sepulcri], although the church ornaments on the altars will remain the property of the church. All offerings made during Mass, even when celebrated by the patriarch or another bishop, will be enjoyed by the canons. This gift does not apply to offerings made outside the church of the Holy Sepulchre. The patriarch also gives the canons the church of St Peter Major at Jaffa, together with its cemetery and all customs belonging to the metropolitan church. The patriarch grants the canons the privilege of translating clergy to benefices in churches in the kingdom of Jerusalem. Oct 1 1102 – Mar. 24 1103. At the request of the late Johannes filius et canonicus ecclesię Sancti Sepulcri, Raymond [of St Gilles], comes atque christianᶒ militiᶒ excellentissimus princeps in partibus Syriᶒ makes an eleemosynary gift to the church of the Holy Sepulchre of a house on Mont Pèlerin, which had been a mosque [que domus antiquo tempore immundis paganorum supersticionibus dedita fuerit]. It is to be converted into a church. At the request of Johannes, Raymond also gives the church of the Holy Sepulchre the church of Sanctus Georgius quę est in montanis, in the presence of Decanus de Poscheriis; capellanus suus Pons de Grilione; Rostagnus de Port; and Bernardus prior de Bethleem. Raymond further promises that once the city of Tripoli is in his hands he will give the church of the Holy Sepulchre the next best church in the city after the principal one, together with revenues sufficient to support 13 clergy [clerici] in residence. 1103 – Feb. 28 1105. Bertrand, inclitus comes [Tripolitanus], son of Raymond of St Gilles, had made an eleemosynary grant, to benefit the soul of his relation William Jordan [count of Cerdagne], in the presence of King Baldwin I of Jerusalem, the archiepiscopus Albariensis and Arnulfus archidiaconus and other good men. He had made this to the church of the Holy Sepulchre which is situated in the castle [castrum] of Mont Pèlerin and was represented by Johannes, who was prior of the same church. Bertrand had given 3 casalia: Abdin/Addin, Babela/Habela, and Beniharan/Beniaran, but he had unjustly taken the casalia back into his hands. When Arnaldus, elected prior of the church on Mont Pèlerin by the chapter of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, demanded the return of the casalia, Bertrand, together with his son Pontius acknowledged his guilt. By an eleemosynary grant he returns them to the church. He confirms the gifts made to the church of the Holy Sepulchre on Mont Pèlerin by his father, Count Raymond of St Gilles, and his cousin William Jordan and in addition gives Arnaldus prior a good horse and the best mule that can be found. If Bertrand or Pontius fail in this commitment they will be subjected to excommunication by the patriarch of Jerusalem, the bishop of Tripoli, the archbishop of Apamea [Femia] and the bishop of Béziers.
