With the agreement of his brothers, frater Petrus presbiter, frater Bonus presbiter, frater Martinus, frater Albertus, Homodei, Johannes, Perettinus, domina Peronella, domina Borghesa and domina Guilielma, Petrus magister et rector hospitalis Sancti Spiritus, who is ill, recognizes under seal that the petia of land on which the hospital is built was given to it by Mainardus Tignosus on behalf of the Pisan commune; that when Acre was recovered by the Franks [Francigene] the king of England restored the hospital to the Pisans, who have patronage over it; and that Peccius Minestra, Pipinus Conetti and Bolgarinus Rainaldi, the Pisan consuls, are patrons, saving the rights of the Order of the Cruciferi and its master in the diocese of Bologna. Frederick, dei gratia Romanorum imperator semper augustus, Ierusalem et Sicilie rex, records under seal that Malpillus, Pipinus and Biutus, the consules of the Pisans in Acre, came into his presence and on behalf of all the Pisans explained that although no Pisan could be forced by the baiuli of the c[athena] to answer for any case, since it should be decided in the Pisan curia, Thomas comes Acerrarum, who had been sent by Frederick to be balius in the kingdom of Jerusalem, had forced them to answer to the court of the cathena [cathenae curia]. Acre. - Wishing to reward the Pisans for their fidelity and services, Frederick, dei gratia Romanorum imperator semper augustus, Ierusalem et Sicilie rex, records under seal that Malpillus, Pipinus and Buitus, the consules of the Pisans in Acre, have shown him evidence of the Pisan contribution to the preservation of the kingdom of Jerusalem. He therefore confirms the full liberty the Pisans enjoy in Acre to import and export horses and other mounts. No baiulus appointed by Frederick or his heirs is to make an special prohibition, unless it is one that is generally inposed. The Pisans are to enjoy all their rights in the kingdom of Jerusalem and Frederick orders his baiuli in Tyre and Jaffa to maintain the Pisans in all their rights and possessions.
