text: Mar. 1 – Sept. 23. Jerusalem. In the royal palatium. Baldwin, dei gratia rex Ierusalem Latinorum secundus, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. He confirms under his seal everything given in the reigns of his predecessors to the Hospital. He confirms those gifts made during his reign, specifying the following. In the territory of Jerusalem, Gosfridus de Parentea gave 4 partes terre at a place called Beccafaba. Gosfridus also gave a garden with cisterns next to the Tower of David, with roads on either side, one of which runs to Bethlehem. Adam de Ramis gave a house with a cistern inside, situated in front of the house of Guido de Miliaco and next to the Gate of the Temple, from where the road goes to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. Witnesses of Adam’s gift were: Aschetinus vicecomes; Vgo de Ramis; Gosfridus de Acula; Alfanus; Siherius de Beritto; Porcellus; Rancoldus de Ponzo. Alanus Boccerius gave a house in Jerusalem, before the witnesses: Aschetinus vicecomes; Guerricus; Hanricus Burgundio. Bernardus de Tolosia and his wife Rufa gave a house in Jerusalem situated before the church of St Martin. Alfanus gave himself and all his property and houses in the piazza of the money-changers [platea nummulariorum] in the presence of the witnesses: Paganus Cesariensis electus, olim cancellarius tantum; Vgo comes Trescensis; Gosfridus de Parentea; Aschetinus vicecomes; Rodulfus camerarius; Rainaldus de Ponzo; Gosfridus Acula; Siherius de Beritto; Porcellus. In the territory of Acre, Barda Armenus and his wife, with the agreement of their children, gave their casale called Coketum. In the territory of Acre, Airaldus cognomine Barba gave half of a casale called Iebethza and Aldeburgis, the sister of Lambertus cambiator, gave the other half. In the territory of Caesarea Gosfridus de Flaiaco, together with Johannes de Bethsam and his brother Vgo de Bethsam gave a casale called Calansue. In the territory of Lydda Vgo de Rammis gave 2 casalia called Bethiben and Gendas in a grant confirmed by Vgo Ioppensis domnus. The charter was drawn up by Hemelinus vicecancellarius noster.

At the request of Gelduinus abbas, his relation [consanguineus], Baldwin, dei gratia rex Ierusalem Latinorum secundus, confirms all that has been given to St Mary of the Valley of Jehoshaphat in the reigns of his predecessors and in his own reign. Duke (dux) Godfrey and his brother King Baldwin I gave an oven, mills, houses and gardens inside Jerusalem and lands and vineyards outside, the Pool of Siloam together with mills, a ditch [fossa] and gardens, and two parts of the casale of Bethsau. Comes Guarnerius gave a casale called Ascar and this was later confirmed by King Baldwin I, who gave 2 carrucatae of land in the territory of Jaffa. Tancred gave a casale called Tymini, situated on the side of Mt Carmel, and houses, an oven and lands within and outside the castle [castrum] of Haifa. King Baldwin I gave a house in Acre and a casale called Cassera in the mountains; at Sidon a viridarium, a machomeria outside the city and a casale called Cafarabra, with the agreement of Eustachius Granerius; at Beirut houses, an oven, a mill and a viridarium inside the city and 2 carrucatae of land outside. Eustachius Granerius gave a casale called Betalla in the territory of Caesarea and a house in the city of Caesarea, with the agreement of King Baldwin I. Pisellus vicecomes gave a casale called Meschium and lands by the road that leads to the River Jordan, and in the territory of Belcha across the river a casale called Bessura, with the agreement of King Baldwin I. Rogerius Rammensis episcopus gave a casale called Saphoria and within the castle [castrum] of Lydda [Sanctus Georgius] a house and 4 carrucatae of land, with the agreement of King Baldwin I. Ado de Cherisio, his wife Richildis and his son Warmundus gave a casale called Chorat in the mountains around Toron, with the agreement of King Baldwin I. Teobaldus de Nigella gave a casale called Zebezeb, situated in terra Sueti, with the agreement of King Baldwin I and Wilelmus de Buris. Lambertus, a cliens of Wilelmus de Buris, gave a casale called Soesme beyond the River Jordan, with the agreement of Wilelmus de Buris and Gozelinus princeps Tybiadis. Wilelmus de Buris gave a casale called Ierraz, situated in territorio Gor, and a house in Jerusalem. Walterius Machumet gave a casale called Jamaruara, situated in the valley of Clin, with the agreement of King Baldwin I. Wilelmus de Buris gave 4 carrucatae of land and houses at Ligium, with the agreement of King Baldwin I. Wido de Miliaco gave half of a casale called Betemar in the territory of Jerusalem, with the agreement of King Baldwin I. King Baldwin I freed from census and navalis exactio all the ships [naves] of the abbey of St Mary which should enter or leave all the ports of the kingdom of Jerusalem. Letardus vicecomes gave 4 carrucatae of land and olive groves, together with a house in the casale of Hubertus de Pazi which is called Siph, and outside the casale a garden. Of the donations made in his own reign, King Baldwin II has given a casale called Beteri in the territory of Nablus and a house in Nablus; a casale called Beffella in the mountains in the territory of Tyre, another casale called Sardanas, and houses and a viridarium within Tyre. Lord Gozelinus gave a casale called Cafrielme in the territory of Tiberias with the agreement of King Baldwin II. Hugo dominus Iope gave a casale called Machoz in the territory of Ascalon and in Ascalon the greater machomeria and one of the better viridaria. Hugo also gave the land which had belonged to Framericus in the territory of Jaffa and a casale called Saphe in the land of Nablus, with the agreement of King Baldwin II. Barisanus the constabularius of Hugo gave a casale called Dargeboam in the lands near Jerusalem, with the agreement of Hugo his lord and King Baldwin II. Romanus de Podio, his wife Richildis and their heirs gave 2 casalia called Bessura and La, situated in terra Belcha. Wilelmus de Buris gave 2 casalia across the Sea of Galilee [ultra mare Tybiadis] called Sanctus Georgius and Sanctus Iob. The charter was drawn up by Hemelinus cancellarius.
