Baldwin, per dei gratiam in sancta civitate Ierusalem Latinorum rex sextus, grants under seal to Guilielmus Tyrensis archiepiscopus and his successors the tithe of all personal returns [exenii], described as presents, made throughout all the land of Toronum at Christmas, Shrove Tuesday and Easter, of chickens, eggs, cheese, ectuli and wood, together with a tithe of the besants, which the king receives customarily from carrucae liberae. The villani are to carry all the tithes given to the church to the house of the archbishop at Toronum. Nine tenths will be delivered to the king, the archbishop will have the tenth part. Baldwin, per dei gratiam in sancta civitate Ierusalem Latinorum rex sextus, gives under seal to the Pisan community [communitas Pisanorum] a platea by the port of Acre, without the obligation of servitium. The platea stretches from the port to the public way [via publica], having on one side the house of Martinus Piper and on the other the house of Willelmus Ioppensis. The Pisans can construct vaults [voltae] on the platea, over which they can build whatever they wish. Below the vaults the platea remains in the hands of the Pisan commune [commune Pisanorum] and open to the city [in civitatis servitium]. With the agreement of Guido Ioppes et Ascalonis comes and his wife Sibilla the king’s sister, Baldwin, per dei gratiam in civitate Ierusalem sancta Latinorum rex sextus, gives under seal to Ioscelinus, his uncle and senescalcus, an annual rent of 1000 besants, drawn on the cathena of Acre in the instalments customarily paid by the cathena, and the casale called Iesce/Iesse situated in the mountains of Acre, except for half of that casale which Alemandina holds as dowry [in dotem]; after her death this will revert to Ioscelinus. The gift is made in exchange for Maron, which the king had previously given to Ioscelinus. The same service will be owed as had previously been rendered for Maron, except for the assisiae which are in the land of Maron. The king confirms the purchase by Ioscelinus from Iohannes Bogalet scriba for 150 besants of a house at Castellum Nouum, which the king had previously given to Iohannes Bogalet. The king also gives Ioscelinus Iohannes drugemannus of Castellum Nouum with his heirs and goods. Baldwin, per dei gratiam in sancta civitate Ierusalem Latinorum rex sextus, confirms under seal a purchase by Ioscelinus, his uncle and senescalcus, from Gaufridus Tortus, who, with the consent of his wife Flandrina and his son Gaufridus, has sold the casalia of Elgabacie, Hourfex, Carsilia, Cassie, Dere, Feenix, Bellum Uidere, which in Arabic [Sarracenice] is called Fassoue, Camsara, Terretrame, Accabara, Soroue, Sauroefoca, Tarrebresca and Deirbasta for 6000 besants with their lands and rustici, on condition that Seit and Guillelmus, the servientes of Gaufridus, retain the feodi of the scribania and drugumanagium, which they claimed in the king’s presence. Ioscelinus will owe the servicium of 2 milites for the casalia. Gaufridus Tortus is obliged to render servicium proportionate to the rest of his fief that he has retained. Gaufridus has requested that with this sale his debts are settled, so that he may retain the rest of his feodum.
