text: Feb. 14. Acre. In the patriarch’s palatium. The record of the arbitration by Patriarch Albert of Jerusalem on a dispute between Martinus Rozia, a citizen of Genoa, and frater Hermannus, magister hospitalis Alamanorum de Acon, over a house in Tyre that had belonged to the late Theodorus Surianus. The patriarch rules that frater Hermannus should give Martinus Rozia 60 properly weighed Saracen besants of Syria. Martinus accepts, provided the gold coins are properly weighed, and surrenders to frater Armannus the charter he has that relates to the house. Witnesses: Galterius Acconensis episcopus; frater Lodoicus; Aldo ecclesie sancte crucis de Accon canonicus; Obertus Aurie; Nicholaus Spinola. Feb. 14. Acre. In the patriarch’s palatium. text: Jan. 15. Lateran. The patriarch of Jerusalem had informed Pope Innocent III that he had annulled the action of the chapter of Nicosia. In the election of the archbishop it had nominated 2 names to the king of Cyprus, who had chosen the thesaurarius ecclesiae. This may have been by ancient custom, but it is uncanonical and the pope orders the chapter to elect an archbishop freely. The appointment will be confirmed by the patriarch, the archbishop of Caesarea and the bishop of Acre, whom the pope appoints his representatives in this matter. Jan. 15. Lateran.
