text: Oct 1 1102 – Mar. 24 1103. In the reign of Baldwin, rex inclitus et christianissimus regnum Babiloniᶒ atque Asiᶒ disponens, Evremar, who has succeeded to the patriarchate, rules on the prebends of the canons of the church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Each canon is to be provided with 150 besants a year. This sum will be received by the cantor, the primicherius or magister scholasticus, the treasurer and sacristan, over and above any other prebend customarily enjoyed by them. King Baldwin has provided the succentor with 150 besants and after the death of Arnulfus archidiaconus, who has been funding the subdeacon with 100 besants a year, the patriarch will provide the same sum for the subdeacon. The patriarch gives the canons 2 altars – the high altar in the choir by which is the patriarchal cathedra, and the parochial altar, immediately behind the Tomb [ad capud Sepulcri], although the church ornaments on the altars will remain the property of the church. All offerings made during Mass, even when celebrated by the patriarch or another bishop, will be enjoyed by the canons. This gift does not apply to offerings made outside the church of the Holy Sepulchre. The patriarch also gives the canons the church of St Peter Major at Jaffa, together with its cemetery and all customs belonging to the metropolitan church. The patriarch grants the canons the privilege of translating clergy to benefices in churches in the kingdom of Jerusalem. Oct 1 1102 – Mar. 24 1103. text: Apr. 3. Patriarch Evremar of Jerusalem writes to his old teacher, Bishop Lambert of Arras, giving him the benefit of a share in the prayers and merits of the Church of Jerusalem. He presents him with a gold ring and 2 crystal ampules, filled with balsam. His sealed letter reaches Arras on 17 November. [13] Apr. 3. comments: [13] The seal is unusual in that it is inscribed in both Latin and Greek, perhaps to stress the legitimate inheritance of the Latin patriarchs from their Greek predecessors. As transcribed in the late 17th century, it reads: S. Euremarus Patriarcha Hierusalem. Ό ΆΓΙΟΣ ΤΑΦΟΣ ΤΟΥ ΚΥΡΙΟΥ ΙΗΣΟΥ ΧΡ[ΙΣΤΟΥ].
