The entry to the street in the north is from the ruha palmariorum, facing the church of the Holy Sepulchre. It runs between the communities and then below houses of the Hospital of St John before exiting in the south in the ruha balneorum patriarche. The rights of the two communities are defined as follows. St Mary possesses the street from its start as far as an arch surrounded by a wall [quendam arcum pariete clausum]. The abbey can build houses, as long as they are not higher than the foot of signs of the cross which are inscribed on the walls of the Hospital of St John. From the arch there is a space between the church of the Hospital and the houses of the nuns of St Mary which is to remain empty, with no building permitted. The nuns may not construct doorways or windows there. From the space down to the ruha balneorum patriarche the street is to be the property of the Hospital of St John, which can do whatever it likes in it. The water channels [conducti] are to be managed by both communities in the parts of the street for which they are responsible.
