Raymond Rupin, Dei clementia princeps Antiochenus, writes to the cardinals and clergy of the Roman church, informing them of his eleemosynary grant to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem of the city of Guabelum, which has recently been abandoned by the pagani and which he has visited, raising his banner [vexillum] and transferring the city into the hands of frater Joubertus castellanus Margati and other Hospitallers and raising the Order’s banner [vexillum] in place of his. Returning to Antioch and holding court [curia] he has ordered by public pronouncement all those who have feoda in the lordship of Guabelum to make homage [homagium] to the Hospitallers of St John. He asks that his gift be confirmed by the pope.

Patriarch Albert of Jerusalem confirms under seal an eleemosynary gift made in his presence to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem by Aalys, the daughter of Turginus and a consoror of the Hospital. She gives 4 carrucate terre with houses in casale Geschale, which Turginus had bought for 1000 besants from King Guy and Queen Sibylla, when they were Joppensis et Ascalonensis comes et comitissa. She delivers the charter of that sale to frater Isembardus Hospitalis magnus preceptor and frater Ricardus Hospitalis thesaurarius. She also leaves the Hospital an eleemosynary gift of 100 besants, to be paid on her death by the sale of a rent [censuales] of 50 besants a year payable to her by Thomas Pisanus for houses he holds of her in the vicus Catene at Acre, situated before the house of Johannes Daht. The houses border on the east the public way [via publica] and on the south the house of the daughter of Joannes Daht. On the north they adjoin the house of Tortosa and on west overlook the sea, called Lordamer. Any surplus from the sale of the rent can be distributed in alms for her soul. The Hospitallers will receive the eleemosynary gift of 100 besants even if Aalys should die intestate. Leon has given the city of Saleph, castellum novum and Camard. The pope includes the text of the letter written to him by King Leon on 15 April.

With the agreement of his heir Raymond Rupen, the son of Raymond, the first born son of Prince Bohemond of Antioch, Leon, filius domini Stephani bone memorie, Dei et Romani imperii gratia rex Armenie, records under seal that he has given Laranda to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, to be held by it when he or his heirs or other Christians take Laranda from the pagani. He gives the Hospital freedom make peace or war with Laranda or on any other frontier of its territory, provided the defence of his kingdom is assured. He will abide by truces made by the Hospital and will defend the lands of the Hospital if it is at war with a neighbour with which he has a truce. The Hospitallers may keep all the booty they gain in warfare. They also have the right to arrest all those subject to them who act against the Christian faith throughout his kingdom and to judge them according to their own justice.
