Constance, Dei gracia Antiochenorum principissa, records that Adelicia Laodicie principissa, who had unjustly seized the land of the sons of Radulfus Boerius and had granted it to Guarnerius de Burgo, had recognized her fault in the presence of Geraldus Laodicensis episcopus and other good men and had ruled that the land should be returned to the sons of Radulfus. The land had been inherited in the meantime by Martinus Gelnus, who now restored it to the sons of Radulfus in the presence of Constance and the barones of Latakia. The sons of Radulfus have sold the land to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, represented by frater Willelmus, who presides over the commandery [domus] of the Hospital in the principality of Antioch [in Antiochenis finibus]. Constance herself concedes whatever rights she has on the land and adds 2 carrucatae terrae in the Guastina Putei adjoining it. Witnesses: G. text: Feb. 5. Robertus de casali S. Egidii and his wife Odula remit 100 of the 500 besants owed them annually by the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. The remaining 400 will be paid 4 times a year, 100 each on the Feasts of Easter, the Nativity of St John the Baptist, All Saints and Christmas. If payment is not made within 40 days Robert and his heirs can reoccupy the land until the rent is paid. In return for the remission, Raimundus magister and the Hospital have, at the request of Robertus and Odula, purchased the casale of Teira, which is next to Calanson, from Pisellus de casale S. Egidii, his wife Arsen, his sons Dudo/Dudonis and Johannes, and Agnes, the wife of Dudo, for 1,000 besants, with the agreement of Gualterius Maledoctus and his wife Milisendis. Gualterius Maledoctus promises that he will demand no service for the casale from the Hospital, in return for which he receives 400 besants from Robertus de casale S. Egidii. Dudo, the son of Pisellus is made a vassal [homo] of Gualterius, paying each year 250 besants in return for the Hospital’s assurance that it will demand no service from the casale. In the presence of Cardinal Guido of Florence, the papal legate, and Balduinus archiepiscopus Cesaree, Maurinus becomes a confrater of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, represented by Raimundus magister. He intends to enter the Hospital before death. Meanwhile, he gives himself body and soul to the Hospital, together with all his property when he dies. If he marries and has heirs, they will inherit only his wife’s property. He also leaves 100 besants each to a nephew and niece in the West, the children of his sister Guillelma, which will be delivered to them by the Hospital. Eugenius specifically lists the following in the East: Becciafaba; Belforte; castellum Bouonis; Ramora; Giaffa; Mirabel; Treponti; Benguarnito; Poffavento; Calonthone; Calosia; Caco; obedientia de Cesaria; Altafiad; obedientia de Napoli; Delin; Cafamarda; casale de Monte Nayn; Tabaria; obedientia de Cayfa, de Acri et Gibessa; Cozetto; Syri; Sidon; Beirut; Tripoli; Mont Pèlerin; Arci; Coliat; Rafania with all the dependencies the Hospital has in the county of Tripoli; Stamborgo; the obedientiae of Antioch; Assa and Femia; Bersabee, just as the king and patriarch conceded.
